District Based Virtual Learning Programs

The Center for Online Learning is pleased to offer a wide variety of virtual courses for districts to facilitate using their own 'Teacher of Record'. Mineola and Valley Stream Central are just two of the districts who have taken advantage of this program. Allowing them to and give their students the opportunity to take courses online.

Valley Stream Central High School District

When Valley Stream launched this program in 2017, their goal was to provide their students with a supportive environment for experiencing online learning. This would better prepare students to take online courses in college; a trend that has been increasing in popularity in recent years.

The district enrolled close to 100 students in online elective courses.  These courses give students the opportunity to take classes that are not offered in their district, including career readiness courses.

Bellmore School District

Bellmore School District is piloting a remote virtual learning academy utilizing the Center for Online Learning's BUZZ Learning Management System stocked with full virtual courses from Lincoln Learning Solutions.

Over 100 Kindergarten through grade 6 students are enrolled in virtual courses in all areas of their academic and elective courses.
